HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGY IN YOUR EVALUATION?
To start my evaluation, I needed a technology to broadcast the links to the other technology I had used. I was able to portray this by creating a website. I used Wix.com and looked and the variety of templates. This created different ways for a viewer to read my evaluation thus making it less repetitive. I chose the best template which suited the layout of my four questions. I chose a very sophisticated template to emphasise my website being professional. To gain a fuller knowledge of how to use Wix I watched a YouTube tutorial. I understood the basic concepts of how to use it from my evaluation for my AS opening title sequence, however i wanted to develop it to a further extent to make my website more interesting and unique. One of the tutorials i watched is shown below. Sometimes, I would use the help button supplied by the website to help me improve my Wix website, and I researched different ideas on the Wix Website blog which developed my website, thus making it more advanced and unique.
I adapted the template to suit my Evaluation website. I changed all the photos on my home page to fit the theme of my film trailer, Distortion. I was able to use these photos from the Abstract section of the free photos Wix provides. I then adapted the settings for it to fade ad blend in with the colour so the font could be seen in front of it. I also included anchors so as the audience scrolled down it would automatically take them to the new picture, and question. This made my evaluation website look more professional.
I also adapted the menu bar to make it clear to the audience what each page shows, so they can clearly see where each answer to the questions are. This is key to a website and evaluation.
Also, by exploring all the different aspects I could add to my Evaluation website, I discovered that I could add Power-points to it. This makes it easier for the audience to observe my previous research and planning, and look into ore detail in what I had done. I was able to do this by uploading the Power-points to Wix and using the icon as a button to take them to my presentations. I used this for Question 1 and Question 3. I adapted the settings so I could make the title be shown to the audience knew what the Power point was about.
I was also able to add things such as Spotify music, as shown in Question 1, and videos and images. This technology gives a visual and auditory representation to my evaluation and makes it more of an interesting and eye catching read.
Furthermore, I made links to blogger and prezi which are other media platforms. I created the links by making buttons on Wix which send the audience directly to the web address. This created clear connections to what I had done in my research and planning, and audience research previously. From creating these links the reader has an easier access to my previous work thus making it more straight forward to show my answer to the questions.
Lastly, to make a video of me answering Question, i used a variety of technology. I filmed myself using a camera, explaining my answer. From this, i deleted and edited the parts i wanted on Adobe Premier Pro to make the video look professional. I then uploaded it to YouTube so i could convey it on my Wix website. This gave my evaluation a different way of answering the questions; making it more interesting for the audience so they don't have to read lots of text, as they may get bored.
Lastly, I used a website called Giphy which allowed me to create gifs. I was able to put my YouTube link to my film trailer and choose what part of it i wanted to create into a gif, and how long for. These gave my evaluation website a more interesting look and gave the audience something to visualise as i was explaining. It also shows proof as to what i am saying is true. Once i created my gif i was able to download it onto my computer and then onto Wix as an image.
