How did you use media technologies in your research?
I used various types of technology when researching about different aspects of film trailers. Firstly, I used YouTube to look at a variety of post modern and thriller film trailers, which are known to be popular. These included Inception, Justice League and Star Wars. The film trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is shown to the right. YouTube is an interesting technology to use due to it providing easy access to a huge mass of content. I was able to easily find many film trailers which I could analyse for their conventions. From this i could research about different film trailers and see what I could use within my product for Distortion.
To portray my research I used PowerPoint which allowed me to show the reader a clear presentation which an be easily read and understood. I also included photos relating to the films which could help them visualise the film trailers. I then had to upload them to Author stream which converted them to allow me to upload the embedded code onto Blogger. these technologies helped me in portraying my research onto a media platform for my audience to see. I also used Powerpoint for my music, title, poster, magazine cover and website research. By researching the conventions of these I was able to see what producers had done previously, and how i could adapt it to fit Distortion. It allowed me to gather interesting ideas which inspired me, and what was compulsory within my film trailer, poster, magazine cover and website. I also researched important conventions of a film trailer, genre conventions and the mise en scene which I could adapt to mine, for Distortion. I used a variety of technologies to research this. I mainly used Slide Share and Wikipedia where I found out a variety of information about these different aspects which could be applied to my film trailer. I made Prezi's to portray my research as they are a unique and interesting way of showing a presentation. They are more interactive with the audience thus they will be more inclined to read through it, rather than skip through important information. I was also able to upload YouTube videos onto Prezi, which is another technology I used. This enabled the audience to visualise what i was discussing, and to be shown an example. Consequently, this made my presentation more unique and interactive. I was then able to upload my Prezi's by embedding them and puttin them onto Blogger. I organised the dates on Blogger so the structure of my blog was organised and easy for the audience to understand as they read through it.
